In anticipation for Destiny 2’s upcoming Season 11, currently known only as Season of the [REDACTED], Bungie tweeted out a cryptic audio file as a teaser. To most of us, this 1:13 clip is nothing more than some spooky ambient sounds, but Reddit detectives are hot on the trail of true meaning behind the sounds.
Over on r/raidsecrets, a pair of threads dedicated to the audio file have been tracking all of the theories and discoveries made so far. One of the first things players noticed was that the file is 91 bars. A google search recommended Psalm 91, which reads “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” The shadow of the Almighty is particularly relevant as the Almighty, the cabal mothership, is currently on a collision course with Earth. It’s possible that’s the entire message in the audio clip, but unlikely.
Some clever players have observed that the audio file shares many similarities with the “Sounds of Saturn,” a radio signal recorded by Nasa in 2018. They’re currently at work combining the two audio files to compare waveforms and look for clues.
There are some ingame sounds that sound similar as well. Redditor u/kuang1999 identified the Garden of Salvation raid statue and the sound from the pyramid ship on Mars as near copies.
While many have suspected Europa as the next Destiny 2 destination, it’s possible this audio clip is hinting at Saturn as next year’s patrol zone. Keep an eye on the r/raidsecrets subreddit for updates as the community digs deeper and deeper into the mysterious sounds.
