Here’s how to find the Horned Wreath and complete the Essence of Vanity quest in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2’s Moon is full of secrets — one of which is the Horned Wreath, an item you’ll need to complete the Essence of Vanity quest. You obtain this quest by performing activities on the Moon, and completing it rewards you with a Tranquility kinetic sniper rifle.
In addition to just finding the Horned Wreath, you’ll also need to complete Moon activities such as public events, patrols, and Lost Sectors, on top of getting a bunch of sniper rifle kills while on the Moon. Both of these steps are relatively easy, so we’re going to stick with the hard part, which is finding the Horned Wreath itself.
Destiny 2 - What Is The Horned Wreath?
The Horned Wreath is an item you’ll need to complete the Essence of Vanity quest. It’s just sitting on the ground in the Chamber of Night deep beneath the surface of the Moon. It’s not too hard to find, but navigating the labyrinth of Hive tunnels can be a real pain. Thankfully, we’ve got a map and a video guide to get you to where you need to go.
Destiny 2 Chamber Of Night
Getting the Horned Wreath involves spelunking underneath the surface of the Moon. First, head to Sanctuary, and then make your way to Anchor of Light. Just past the big round lunar station is a path that will lead you to the Temple of Crota, which is the quickest way to get to the Chamber of Night. Although there are other paths, we’re going to stick with this one.
Head inside the Temple and make your way down. You’ll eventually get to an area with a big spire in the middle and a general greenish hue. Take the first right and follow the tunnel to The World’s Grave. There will be a bunch of Hive here, so either scoot past them or kill them as you make your way to the end of the big hall. On the left is a door that leads to a circular area that branches off in several directions. Take the path immediately ahead of you as you enter (as in, don’t go left or right) and you’ll find yourself in a darkened corridor. This is the Chamber of Night.
Now we just have to find the Horned Wreath. Continue into the Chamber of Night past the fallen columns and creepy red ghosts. If you’re presented with a fork in the path, always stick to the right. There are a few Hive down here, but nothing you can’t handle. You’ll eventually reach an open cave area with a few more Hive in it — use this as a landmark to confirm you’re on the right path.
Past the Cave is another linear hallway with more Hive. Keep going to the very end until you enter the large chamber where the Nightmare of Crota would be if you were doing a Nightmare Hunt. The Wreath is in a small, U-shaped cave in the lower left-hand side. Your HUD should mark the Wreath once you get near it. Now that you’ve got the Horned Wreath, all you need to do is kill a few folks with your ordinary sniper rifle and do some stuff on the Moon to get your much more impressive Tranquility sniper.
