Here’s where you can get all 50 of Savathun’s Eyes with the new Exotic Trace Rifle, Ruinous Effigy in Destiny 2.
The Ruinous Effigy has arrived, and Guardians are all going nuts about how they can turn enemies into void balls to dunk them on other enemies. It’s a truly exotic Exotic that does something no other weapon has ever done in the game, and it’s a lot of fun to boot.
It’s also useful. One of the Moments of Triumph MMXX triumphs is to pop all of those invincible floating eyes you see in the various destinations that are due to be vaulted with the release of Beyond Light (now pushed back to November, sad face). Those are Savathun’s Eyes, and she’s using them to spy on us like a peeping tom peeking in through the shower curtain.
The only way to stop her is by popping those eyes using Ruinous Effigy, but the problem is she’s scattered 50 of those bastards all over Io, Mercury, Mars, Titan, and the new Prophecy Dungeon. It’s going to be a journey, but we’re going to pop them all.
But first, we’re going to thank r/raidsecrets, the Destiny 2 subreddit that discusses all the latest and greatest in Destiny 2 content and how to beat/find it. The community was the first to compile a listing of all 50 eyes and then also provide photographic evidence of each and every one of their locations. On top of that, YouTube channel 360GameTV provides an excellent video guide with time stamps for each eye location and does so in blessed silence, so we’re going to use those as our real-time walkthrough.
Oh, and in case you were worried about keeping track of which eyeballs you’ve burst and which ones you’ve yet to poke with Ruinois Effigy, you can use u/Bachmanetti’s handy spreadsheet to mark them down. Just make sure you make a copy of the spreadsheet since everyone is using their own.
Let’s hop to it.
Mercury
As the smallest destination to be vaulted, Mercury is probably the easiest place to find all 10 of Savathun’s Eyes. Four of them are in the destination’s lone Lost Sector, Pariah’s Refuge, and the remaining 6 are scattered across the map. Check out the video above for all locations.
Io
You’re going to be going on quite the journey with this one, as both Terrabase Charon, the Wraith Mines, and Excavation Site II have eyes in them that you’ll need to track down. It’s a big map, so use your sparrow liberally.
Whisper Of The Worm
On top of that, the Whisper of the Worm mission has five more eyes to fine. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait for a public event to actually open a portal to the Whisper mission this time around, and you can instead launch it directly from the directory. You also don’t need to finish it in order to get all five eyes as they’re all found during the platforming section of the mission. Just go into it solo and casually pop them eyeballs.
Titan
Titan might look small, but you do wind up having to go to every corner of the rig in order to get all of these eyes including every Lost Sector this destination has. They’re not particularly hard to find, but you should take it slow as a few of these eyes are hiding around corners that are easy to miss.
Mars
Just like on Io, you’ll be traveling all over Hellas’ Basin to find these eyeballs. Once again, each Lost Sector has an eye, and you’ll even have to go to the very southern edge of the map in order to pop one of ’em–a place you likely haven’t been in ages. That’s sort of the beauty of this triumph as Bungie is sending us all on one last tour of these destinations before they’re gone for good, or at least gone for a while.
Prophecy Dungeon
There’s only five eyes to find in the Prophecy Dungeon, but they can be a bit tricky as they have to be popped before moving on to the next section because you can’t backtrack. This means if you miss one, you’ll have to start the entire dungeon all over again.
The last eyeball is easily the worst as it will only spawn on one of the possible final boss rooms, and each one spawns randomly. I had to delay the final boss for three full damage rounds just to get it to spawn. Patience is a virtue here.
