Destiny 2 has many quests for players to complete, rewarding some of the game’s most coveted loot. Pinnacle equipment and even certain Exotics are rewards from these time-consuming and often difficult quests.

One such quest introduced in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is the “Symphony of Death” quest. Players obtain this after completing the campaign and Eris Morn’s weekly challenge. This quest is long and has a few unique missions with an explosive reward. Deathbringer, one of the best Rocket Launchers in the game, is the reward for this quest, making it well worth the trouble. Here are 10 pro tips for completing the “Symphony of Death” quest in Destiny 2.

10 Complete The Eris Weekly

Once the Shadowkeep campaign is complete, Eris Morn will provide a weekly Challenge for players to complete.

This will involve a certain objective based on the memory Eris grants, but follow it to its completion and claim the reward from the chest Eris stands near to start the Deathbringer quest.

9 Do The K1 Revelation Lost Sector Last

The Lunar Spelunker Bounty must be finished before you can access K1 Revelation’s vault, which must be opened for the Deathbringer quest to truly begin.

This Bounty asks players to clear out three Lost Sectors excluding the Revelation Lost Sector, so it’s best to complete that one last. Use any weapons that offer great crowd-control such as Trinity Ghoul to get this done quickly.

8 Join A Fireteam

Joining a Fireteam is usually a good idea to speed up the progress of any activity. The more guns that can kill enemies, the faster quest objectives will complete.

Deathbringer can easily be obtained solo, but if some of the later steps prove to be daunting, consider finding two other players.

7 Use Riskrunner Or Trinity Ghoul

Regardless of the number of players together on this quest, do not neglect weapons that can quickly take down groups of enemies.

As with most quests in Destiny, killing is the main objective for most quest steps. To speed this up, consider using Riskrunner with an Arc Subclass or a Masterworked Trinity Ghoul to quickly take down enemies. This will dramatically speed up each quest step.

6 Marrow’s Elegy: Bone Collector Spawn Message

One of the earlier parts of the “Symphony of Death” asks players to find a Bone Collector enemy and slay them. The game is rather vague on where this enemy is, but there’s a neat trick to finding him.

A Major Acolyte is the Bone Collector players need to look for. Located in the Anchor of Light zone, the game will provide a text pop-up on the bottom left of the screen stating a Bone Collector is wandering. It will typically wander next to the lower section of the Patrol space right next to the pathway to Sanctuary. If it hasn’t spawned, wait a few minutes for this text prompt then take the Bone Collector down.

5 Sulmakta, High Conductor’s Location

Sulmakta, High Conductor is one of the Wizards that must be slain to power the Deathbringer. Found in the Scarlet Keep Strike, Sulmakta resides on the second floor of the elevator section.

After ascending two floors, head to the room with the enemy Wizard as normal, but this time take a right and Sulmakta should be floating there. Use Heavy weapons or a Super to take Sulmakta down.

4 Of Darkest Harmony: Farm Altars Of Sorrow

“Of Darkest Harmony” requires players to take down a large assortment of Nightmares and Hive on the Moon. This was rather time-consuming when Shadowkeep released, but an activity has been released since that makes this incredibly easy.

That activity is Altars of Sorrow. Similar to Escalation Protocol, waves of Nightmares will begin to spawn that get progressively harder as waves progress. Nightmares are guaranteed to spawn here alongside hundreds of red bars, so this quest step should only take a few minutes to complete with the right build.

3 Choir of the Damned: Focus On The Wizards

The “Choir of the Damned” mission is the final step to the Deathbringer quest. This mission is by no means difficult, but it has a new mechanic that players must manage.

A Wizard will be in each arena that must be slain before the mission can progress. This Wizard will project a debuff onto players so long as their shield is active. If the shield remains up for a minute, everyone dies. Focus on killing these Wizards as fast as possible to bypass this mechanic.

2 Choir of the Damned: Keep Moving

Since the Wizards are the main threat in the final mission, staying mobile is the best thing a team could do. Thralls and Knights can get annoying to face, but staying mobile prevents them from becoming much of a threat.

Using weapons that can clear groups of enemies can help with this, but nothing can top running past these enemies with the invisibility of Nightstalker, the mobility of a Dawnblade, or a Titan using Lion Ramparts.

1 Choir of the Damned: Bring A Sword

Using a Sword in a level filled with melee enemies might sound counterintuitive, but Swords have received dramatic buffs since Shadowkeep released.

Nearly every Sword in Destiny 2 can now instantly kill Majors and some of the game’s weaker bosses. The Wizards fall in this category. A well-placed heavy attack is enough to take them down in one or two strikes. Swinging the Sword mid-air is also useful for gaining extra momentum, making them an excellent choice for this mission.
