Destiny 2 is a large game with a variety of different planets and locales to explore within the Solar System. Each area within the game has hidden areas and Easter eggs provided to players by Bungie. One of those areas that the game offers is The Tangled Shore nestled within the Reef of the asteroid belt.

First introduced in the game’s Forsaken add-on, the Tangled Shore gave players not only a new area to explore but new lore to be discovered that adds to the game’s universe. Inevitably though, there are things that most players might have missed and here are 10 examples of these instances.

10 Fallen Night Club

In Thieves Landing, players can discover The Empty Tank lost sector just up the stairs from where the Spider’s Lair can be found.

Entering the lost sector will reveal an arena that looks awfully similar to a night club. To add to this night club feel, a DJ servitor playing music just happens to be one of the opponents faced. Who knew that the Fallen liked to party?

9 The Paul McCartney Easter Egg

Sticking with The Empty Tank lost sector, one of the songs the previously mentioned DJ servitor can be heard playing is actually a song by musician and Beatles member Paul McCartney.

This song is the single “Hope for the Future” that was launched alongside the first Destiny. It is regarded by many to be the unofficial theme song of the game but was critically panned upon its release. Good or bad, it seems as if Bungie is willing to acknowledge its past.

8 The Hall Of Exalted Secret Chest

At the end of the Mindbender adventure, players will have to run through a portal to complete the adventure. Instead of this jump on top of the platforms around it where a key can be found at the top of it.

Grab it and then head through the portal to arrive at the Hive ship. The player will want to head right immediately to enter the Hall of Exalted. A locked door will appear that can be opened with the key found earlier. Opening it will reveal a room with a chest where the player can get themselves a unique emblem for their characters.

7 Flaming Pikes That Can Be Piloted

By flaming pikes, these pikes leave behind a flame trail when the boost on them is activated. Players can find these pikes, which is similar to the one The Rider uses, within The Boil area of the map.

Taken down the Fallen piloting the pikes with one of the unique builds in the game to nab one of these babies. After that, the player can have as much fun with it as a kid with a new toy on Christmas.

6 High Plains Can Be Revisited

During the mission “High Plains Blue” players will visit the area where the mission gets its namesake. While it may seem like players cannot return to it, they actually can.

All they have to do is simply backtrack to where the entrance to it can be found. After this, they can explore one of the largest parts of The Tangled Shore to their heart’s content and see if they can find some ghost shells to trade with Spider.

5 Diaviks Mine

This can be tough to find since it is not marked on the map at all. Fast travel to the Sorik’s Cut area then go outside to look for a cave mouth that is seemingly yawning.

Though the player does have to cut through several enemies, reaching the mine is a reward in and of itself since it looks different compared to other areas of the Tangled Shore with a variety of plant life compared to the wasteland outside. A good place to explore when one is bored.

4 An Imperial Chest Can Be Found Within The Mine

In the Diaviks Mine, players can nab themselves some goodies from an imperial chest, courtesy of Calus and the Leviathan.

The chest can be found just passed where a Fallen skiff can be found. Head past it to find the treasure chest. Players can expect some rare items and gear upon opening it.

3 Completing Cryo-Pod Escape Events Help Rebuild The Prison Of Elders

Whether the player is aware of it or not, every time they complete a cryo-pod escape event they are helping in a way to fix the prison of elders. This was a game mode in the first game that had players face certain groups of enemies in specific environments that only got progressively harder with each round.

It was a nice diversion from the usual strikes, raid, and the crucible. It gets banged up pretty bad in Forsaken’s opening mission causing some prisoners to escape. Is it possible that Bungie will bring it back in the future? Only time will tell.

2 There Are No Normal Adventures In This Location

While the missions involving killing the Scorn barons that had a hand in Cayde-6’s death are classified as adventures, they do not play out like a typical adventure.

They play out more like normal missions and unlike the others, players actually have more of an emotional investment in it. They want to avenge Cayde’s death and to take out these guys that are causing chaos to ensure they do not do the same to anyone else again.

1 The Dreaming City Watchtower Can Be Entered Normally

Players will have to repair a broken awoken talisman and then take it to the watchtower in the Tangled Shore in order to enter the Dreaming City. The watchtower can be seen ominously in the distance but can be explored.

With or without the talisman, players can get a glimpse as to what the city looks like and even interact with some objects to get a response from their ghost. It is simple things like this that help make the player just a bit more immersed in the world of Destiny 2.
