The wacky-looking FMV game Death Come True (from Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka) will be released on June 25, 2020, for Switch and mobile devices in Japan. A new trailer confirmed the date along with a price point of around 1,960 yen. That likely points to the international release being around $20.
As for when the title will come to PC and PS4, the official website simply lists it as “TBA.” Both versions are still scheduled for 2020, but it seems we’ll need to wait a bit longer for those particular ports. At least the game is still coming out.
The trailer above contains English subtitles for non-Japanese speakers. In it, we mostly get a recap of the price, date, and platforms. It doesn’t show much about Death Come True, but that’s perfectly fine. The game is, essentially, right around the corner. We can wait a few weeks to get the full picture.
From everything we’ve seen so far, this looks to be a faithful recreation of the formula Danganronpa started. It doesn’t have the investigation aspect, but utilizing real actors should lend a different atmosphere than the anime style of Kodaka’s previous series. Maybe we’ll even get a sequel out of this, which would be a real blast.
