Publisher Izanagi Games has announced that the trippy FMV mystery title Death Come True will be heading to PS4 on October 15, 2020. Coming to digital platforms globally, Japanese gamers will be able to grab a physical edition on the same day that includes some Blu-Ray like extra features. That’ll run you 4,180 yen (or roughly $40).

The release schedule for Death Come True is a little bizarre. It launched on mobile and Switch in late June before coming to Steam in the middle of July. There must have been some certification issue on Sony’s part that kept the PS4 version from releasing anywhere close to the other ports.

Should you invest in Death Come True? Yeah, I found the interactive experience to be very unique and well-executed. The story might not be the deepest thing around, but developer Too Kyo Games did a solid job blending the interactivity that video games offer with the stylish and flash that films provide. Maybe it is merely an updated take on something like Night Trap, but that’s fine.

I don’t know if $40 is worth it (especially with crazy Japanese import fees), but the digital version will only run you $16. You really can’t go wrong at that price.
