Dead Cells on mobile is getting a bit more content at the end of the month, as The Bad Seed DLC will be available on March 30. The challenging add-on will bring new levels, enemies, and the difficult Mama Tick boss.
The announcement was made by Playdigious, which also released an animated short to celebrate the occasion. You can check out the new video below:
“The Bad Seed DLC gives players a new and alternate early route for those who wish to keep their feet dry from the Sewers or are too afraid of the heights of the Remparts,” Playdigious said. The team also gave a detailed look at all the new content you’ll find in the new DLC:
- New levels to lose your head in - the not-so-peaceful Dilapidated Arboretum and the noxious Morass of the Banished New monsters to rip to pieces - get to know the locals, such as the Jerkshroom and the Yeeter New weapons to play with - trim sticking out heads with the Scythe Claw, or make them dance to the sound of the Rhythm n’ Bouzouki New boss to fight against - Mama Tick is dying to meet you
Custom runs will not be included with The Bad Seed DLC, but are “under consideration for future updates.”
Dead Cells has put up incredible numbers since launching in 2017, as it was recently revealed over 5 million units have been sold worldwide across all platforms. More impressive are the recent numbers from China, which indicate over 1 million mobile units sold within just a few days. Clearly, there’s still a market for brutal roguelikes, and Dead Cells is doing everything it can to keep the genre alive.
Dead Cells will receive another update in the summer, although the studio is yet to formally announce details.
The Bad Seed DLC will be available on March 30 for iOS and Android. The premium DLC will cost $3.99 and brings new levels, weapons, enemies, and the vicious Mama Tick boss.
