Some recent data suggests that Mario Kart players really like to win, and doing so can sometimes involve being a bit of a douche towards their opponents.

It’s no secret that Mario Kart can bring out our competitive streaks big time. Many of us have fond memories of completely owning our siblings or friends in at least one of the 14 Mario Kart games which have been released since 1992. Or of being completely owned by them, too.

This rather amusing finding is made that much more interesting when you pair it with findings from another recent study held by BonusFinder. Data from their own research revealed that Mario Kart is one of the most stressful games currently on the market (with Dark Souls still topping the list, unsurprisingly). They observed heart rate increases of about 73% amongst their participants over a 30 minute session of playing Mario Kart.

For a family-friendly game, Mario Kart sure knows how to get our gears going and bring out some pretty intense sides of us. But damn, do we love it.
