CD Projekt Red created an enormous amount of goodwill among gamers for their support after the initial release and releasing free DLC for The Witcher 3. You can’t blame anyone before 2020 for believing that going from the modern RPG classic to Cyberpunk would feel as good as this meme.

You can feel however you want about Keanu’s performance now, but it’s undeniable that everyone imagined John Wick rolling into a cyberpunk world. Unfortunately, being the team that made The Witcher 3 doesn’t make you immune from releasing a broken product.

Having Ciri follow you around in Cyberpunk is a nice fantasy for Witcher fans, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this meme exists. Having her wake you up in a crossover where you’re off to kill the general of the Wild Hunt is a fantastic idea. Even if Ciri memes make us think even The Witcher 3 didn’t make sense, this one works beautifully.
The sad truth is that Cyberpunk didn’t deliver on the spirit behind this meme. Fans around the world expected a Witcher 3 quality experience at launch. CD Projekt Red made a big show out of not releasing an unfinished product before launching a disaster worthy of 2020.

How you level Geralt and which mutations you choose can completely change how you play The Witcher 3. Players imagined having an even greater sense of freedom with the level of progression in Cyberpunk. That thought is worth fantasizing about, but the sad reality is that CD Projekt Red didn’t even deliver on essential promises.

It’s easy to forget that CD Projekt Red started as a plucky Polish developer with big ideas and even bigger dreams. Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 represent the possibilities beginning to become a reality. The Witcher 3 undoubtedly took its toll on everyone, but it’s beyond doubt that it’s time to stop worshiping CD Projekt Red.
