We’ve known for months now that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be a mature game. The ESRB has given Cyberpunk an M17+ (Mature) rating, noting that the game features intense violence, strong language, drug and alcohol use, blood and gore, and “strong sexual content,” which was confirmed by PC Gamer’s foray into Night City’s red-light district. You can even customize your character’s genitals to suit whatever desires you might have.

After all that, mere nudity seems almost quaint.

Thankfully, those worried that their child might be mentally scarred from their time in Cyberpunk can rest easy. According to CD Projekt Red lead QA tester Lukasz Babiel, Cyberpunk 2077 will come with a censor mode that removes the nudity.

The question was asked last weekend by a concerned Twitter follower and then posted to the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit. Asked if there is “a setting to turn nudity off? Like a censor mode?” Babiel responded simply with “yes.”

Presumably, there will be additional censor modes that remove the blood and gore and genital customization, but those weren’t discussed in the Twitter thread.

Babiel is making headlines as we get closer to Cyberpunk’s release in December. He’s so far clocked in 175 hours in Cyberpunk 2077 but still hasn’t finished the main campaign. He says that’s because he’s playing on the hardest difficulty and is taking his time with every encounter, but even still, this sounds like a truly massive game that players won’t be able to put down for some time.

The hype is definitely real. Cyberpunk’s five-minute gameplay trailer has been viewed almost 23 million times since it was released last week, and the game has already shot to the top of the Steam sellers list even though it’s not coming out for two weeks.

PS4 versions are already getting sent out to stores as they anticipate Cyberpunk will be the hottest game of the holiday season. Better reserve your copy soon. Cyberpunk 2077 releases on December 10.
