Following Cyberpunk 2077’s removal from the PlayStation Network, neither CD Projekt Red or Sony have provided any indication as to when you can expect to see the game return. In today’s earnings call, executives declined to comment on sales, and noted CDPR is working with Sony to meet the requirements to return to its storefront.

Axios reporter Stephen Totilo highlighted the conversation on Twitter, quoting executives as saying “there is a process” for returning to the PSN, but Cyberpunk 2077 will have to meet certain metrics set by Sony first. Reuters also notes that the company missed its predicted profits for the first financial quarter of the year, and CDPR plans to shift to high-budget projects next year.

Just last week, CDPR shareholders also indicated they had no details regarding Cyberpunk 2077’s status on the PSN, and CDPR CEO Adam Kicinski followed up by saying, “We are still in discussions and with every patch the game gets better and there is a visible progress, but as we said the decision is an exclusive decision of Sony.”

The saga of Cyberpunk 2077’s development has been a long, troubled road. In December of last year, Sony made the decision to remove the listing from its store and offered full refunds to anyone who purchased the game. We’ve since learned the subsequent refunds cost CDPR $51 million in both physical and digital copies.

In the months following Cyberpunk 2077’s launch, industry analysts adjusted their original sales predictions, cutting the 70 million expected worldwide sales down to 35.2 million by 2024. The turmoil surrounding CDPR’s launch and response spawned four class-action lawsuits, which have since been consolidated into one case.

Recently, Cyberpunk 2077 director Mateusz Tomaskiewicz resigned, and creative director Gabriel Amantengelo stepped up to replace Tomaskiewicz and lead the rest of the project.
