Cyberpunk 2077 has been a massive success for CD Projekt Red. The game has sold over 13 million copies. Even with a slew of refunds, this game is a financial juggernaut. The reason for the success of the game can be attributed to many factors.

One reason that Cyberpunk 2077 has been a massive hit is due to the fantastic story and characters buried underneath the mountain of technical problems. One incredible character the game introduces is Judy Alvarez.

10 Judy Was Born In Laguna Bend

While Judy is a current resident of Night City, this wasn’t always the case. Judy is originally from Laguna Bend. This was a smaller town outside of the chaotic borders of Night City.

While this town was initially free of corporate influence, 2062 changed that. NC Dam Ltd bought out Laguna Bend so that it could be transformed into a reservoir. The residents of Laguna Bend were effectively homeless overnight. Judy and her grandparents were forced to move into Night City as a result. An event that would impact her life moving forward.

9 One of Several Long Lasting Relationship Options

When V makes contact with Judy, she becomes an integral part of the story. After making contact with Judy at the beginning of the game, V tags along for several side jobs. After completing all available side missions, V can then take on Pyramid Song.

If the Pyramid Song mission is finished, V can romance Judy as a lasting partner. As opposed to some other characters who are only an option to be pursued as a one night stand, Judy’s romance can lead to an evolving partnership.

8 She Loves Radiohead

With body modification being such a normalized part of Night City’s society, tattoos are normalized. Most users won’t bat an eye when seeing the art encasing Judy’s body. What many will miss is the meaning behind some of these tattoos.

Below the tattoo of the ‘13’ on her left arm is a quote. The quote reads “There was nothing to fear, nothing to doubt.” This is a reference to the Radiohead song, Pyramid Song. With a mission containing the same title as the song, it adds credence to the idea that this techie is a fan of retro music.

7 Romancing Her Can Impact The Game’s Ending

Because Judy is a lasting companion in Cyberpunk, V’s involvement with her influences the story’s ending. Those who take the time to prioritize a romantic partnership with Judy can expect differences in the conclusion to their adventure.

Those who invest time into connecting with Judy will also learn more about her than those who choose to ignore her side-missions in favor of tackling the overarching story. With such an interesting character, players would be doing themselves a disservice by ignoring key aspects of this character’s backstory.

6 Judy Came To Night City After Laguna Bend

After being forced out of Laguna Bend, Judy and her grandparents had no choice but to try and survive in the underbelly of Night City. Judy’s grandparents secured an apartment in the city and did their best to acclimate to the tense climate of the futuristic city.

Judy’s grandparents were not a good fit for the city, even though Judy seems to thrive in the entropy of the futuristic nightmare. Ms. Alvarez’s high intellect allowed her to find work in the city, and her resourcefulness ensured she found a network to protect her.

5 Judy’s Grandparents Left Night City

While Judy initially came to Night City with her grandparents, they are no longer residents of the dangerous city. After several years in Night City, the couple moved north, leaving their apartment to Judy. Without her grandparents to support her, Judy found work at Lizzie’s Bar.

It is here that Judy found her niche in Night City. Not only does she succeed in her line of work, but she also thrives as one of the best in the business.

4 Judy Is A Brain Dance Technician

In 2077 Brain Dances are the most immersive way for people to interact with their deepest fantasies. Brain Dances impact all of the senses to create a surreal experience unrivaled by any other. These mind-bending experiences have become integral to society in Night City.

With so few able to live out the lives they wish, Brain Dances are the next best thing. At Lizzie’s Bar, Judy works as a Brain Dance technician. Judy uses unheard-of methods to further innovate in Brain Dances melding them with other forms of media. She creates some of the most impressive and immersive experiences on the market.

3 She’s A Member Of ‘The Moxes’

While Judy is a successful Brain Dance Technician, she decided to do more with her time than just create these immersive experiences. Judy also decided to get invested with the Mox, a conglomerate of prostitutes that are run out of Night City.

The Mox is one of many gangs scattered about Night City in Cyberpunk. The mantra of this gang is to protect working girls and guys from violent clients. They are stationed at Lizzie’s Bar, and this is how Judy made contact with the group. Believing in their mission, Judy decides to use her skills to help them defend others.

2 Only A Romance Option For Female V

While players across the internet are fawning over Judy as a character, only specific versions of V can pursue a romantic relationship with her. V must have a feminine body type and a feminine voice if they wish to entice Judy as a partner.

Those playing with any other variation of V will still be able to take part in side-missions throughout the game, but will not have the option to take things a step further with the Brain Dance technician. Needless to say, there are several fans devastated by this information.

1 Zodiac Sign Is A Pisces

Many players may not know that Judy’s Zodiac sign is “Pisces.” While that may mean little to those unfamiliar with the Zodiac meanings, it bears significance to her character. Judy’s entire design was based on the theme of division and inner turmoil. The symbol for Pisces is two fish swimming in different directions.

It is often used to showcase division in a character. This is highlighted by her two-toned hair and conflicted personality. Pisces are often in limbo between reality and fantasy. As the premier Brain Dance technician in Night City, this description couldn’t be more accurate for Judy.
