To say that there is a lot to do in Cyberpunk 2077 is an understatement. The game is absolutely massive in scale, and without realizing it, most players can easily find themselves investing hundreds of hours of playtime. It’s impossible to both visit and accomplish everything on a first playthrough (especially if you’re looking to attain all of those tricky in-game achievements).
This is why, to both save time and maximize efficiency, specific objects and quests should actually be visited early in the game. Doing so will save players time and money, making things as easy and interesting as possible for a new character playthrough.
10 Viktor’s Ripperdoc Shop
The shop of one of V’s oldest friends, Viktor Vektor is a former boxer turned back alley ripper doc who helps V coordinate a heist for Dexter DeShawn early in the game. Viktor’s clinic is located beneath Misty’s store in Watson’s Little China, just beneath a back alley stairwell.
Players should visit him frequently to sell off goods, as not only is his shop one of the most accessible but he also sells high-level cyberware modifications. This includes the Legendary Dynalar Sandevistan Mark 4, which increases the chance for a critical hit by 15%.
9 The Afterlife Bar
The Afterlife is a bar located in southern Watson with some of the earliest questlines of Act 2. What makes it a must-see is the fact that it’s an easy place to unlock some of the game’s initial questlines and is the first place the morally dubious Rogue (Johnny’s old girlfriend turned queen of the fixers) is encountered.
Rogue’s earliest quest introduces V to Panam Palmer, a nomad looking to do anything to get her car back. A possible romantic interest, Panam’s early quests also unlock both the Widowmaker and the Overwatch, among the best and most iconic sniper rifles featured in the game.
8 The Badland’s Rocky Ridge Cavern
Exploring every area of Night City is a daunting task, as the overall map is rather huge and getting around quickly is somewhat of a problem. The player can remedy this somewhat by grabbing the fastest car in the game, The Rayfield Caliburn, early on.
There’s a black one available in a cave in the north-eastern area of the map by the badlands, in the night hours past 11 pm. Drive inside the cave and just past the area where Panam’s Ghost Town mission took place to the right. There’s a crate filled with the car and some Murkman-related goodies, all absolutely free.
7 Heywood Alleyway
Before upgrading any sort of pistol, players should first take a stroll down an alleyway located in lower Heywood. Here, behind a fence south of the College Street Metro Station, lies Skippy, the talking A.I. gun.
Located in a briefcase next to a thief, Skippy is a smart pistol that can exclusively aim for the limbs or the head, making it one of the deadliest guns in the game, or a non-lethal one if the player prefers. It also scales to V’s level, so it’ll never really need to be upgraded.
6 Rancho Coronado
Head towards a gas station in Santo Domingo’s Rancho Coronado, where you’ll find a bizarre gas station and a side job called ‘Space Oddity.’ In this intriguing quest, V has to chase after what seems to be a UFO.
Upon completion, V stumbles upon the supposed prized possession: not an alien, but a painting called Untitled 18-Brancesi. What’s nice about this painting is that it sells for a whopping 4000 eddies. Even better, thanks to a glitch, it could be bought back and then resold again at full price for infinite eddies.
5 El Coyote Cojo
Early on in Cyberpunk 2077’s second act, there’s a questline called Heroes, in which Jackie’s mother calls V over to visit the El Coyote Cojo at The Glen. Doing so immediately after The Heist is probably a good idea, because it unlocks a vehicle at a time when V otherwise has no access to one.
Attending the event also gives some awfully good character backstories, along with a couple of options for what to do about Jackie. Doing so rewards players with dual La Chingona Dorada pistols as a reward, along with Jackie’s motorcycle.
4 Jig Jig Street
It’s hard not to stumble upon this area. Not only is it part of the story’s main quest, but it’s also just too outlandish to ignore. A haven of debauchery, Jig Jig street is Cyberpunk’s red light district, Located at the heart of Westbook’s Japantown.
Jig Jig street is one of only two places in Night City where V can engage with Joy Toys. It also hosts not one but two ripper docs, as well as Wakako Okada, one of the main fixers in Night City.
3 Pacifica
Home to the Voodoo Boys, those going for a full-on Netrunning build or who are just looking for some early high-level equipment should check out Pacifica. The region’s shops feature some of the best weapons and gear available in the mid- to late-game.
Later on, V can even contend with some major fighting bouts here for some big eddies. There are even a few vehicles to unlock here, which are some of the best all-terrain cars in the game.
2 North Oak
Home to the wealthy elite of Night city, North Oak is a futuristic wonderland in this often-bleak world. Gamers can see all of the wonders of Night City from the North Oak sign, which is clearly inspired by the Hollywood sign.
Though the security is tight everywhere here, the entire area offers a welcome respite when the player feels exhausted from the intensity of Night City. It also features some of the game’s best panoramic views.
1 City Center
The central business district and hub of life in Night City, this area (unsurprisingly) sells some of the finest clothes and other wares in the game. It also boasts some of the biggest pools of eddies for selling goods.
With a postmodern aesthetic highly reminiscent of Bladerunner, City Center hosts both Corpo plaza and even Arasaka Tower itself. A wealthy and impressive region full of players will want to immerse themselves in, if only to make a little profit of their own.
