Players stuck inside across the world are diving deep into all the worlds and escapes that games have to offer. Some of the deepest dives are into very long strategy games with political intrigue, plots, and medieval armies. There is arguably no game that makes a player feel more like they’re in Game of Thrones than Crusader Kings 2.

Crusader Kings 2 is one of several deep, almost all-consuming strategy games from Paradox Interactive. The company is known for grand strategy games, and Crusader Kings 2 is no exception. Not long ago, Paradox announced the next game in the franchise: Crusader Kings 3.

Crusader Kings 3 is a grand strategy game just like its predecessor, presumably taking notes from the still-popular Crusader Kings 2. There are certainly a lot of notes to take, since it has been eight years filled with expansions since Crusader Kings 2 came out. Paradox has revealed the official release date for Crusader Kings 3, and it is this year, on September 1. The game will be available for PC, but not consoles.

The PC exclusivity is not surprising, since most of Paradox’s games are PC exclusives because of their grand strategy genre. This is not universal though: one of Paradox’s other most successful titles, Stellaris, getting its second DLC on consoles soon. Players are advised to check out the games before committing to a purchase, as they are huge time commitments with lots of DLC.

Crusader Kings 3 will be available on September 1 for PC.
