Crossroads Inn, the real-time tavern simulator that’s been out on PC since 2019, is making the jump to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders go live on May 12, with the game hitting the Microsoft storefront on May 19.
Developer Klabater’s special porting team has been working with Microsoft for over a year to bring their tavern tycoon game to console. The game has been re-engineered for controllers and will feature all the same enhancements that the PC version of the game has received over the past year and a half.
For those new to Crossroads Inn, it’s a tavern simulator where you play as the owner and operator of a medieval tavern. You hire staff, train them, manage your suppliers, create delicious recipes to entice travelers, manage the risk of tavern brawls, and more. It’s sort of like The Sims if everyone was just there to get drunk–which for some of you might be exactly like The Sims.
Crossroads Inn has three main mods, including Sandbox, Campaign, and Scenario. In Sandbox, you simply manage your Inn, upgrading and expanding your business as you bring in more and more customers. In Campaign, you play through a story that has you start as a lowly bar hand and then eventually become king of the land through your incredible tavern business. Scenarios are like mini-campaigns that have you overcome certain challenges at various points in your tavern’s development.
Over the past year, Crossroads Inn has received lots of expansions, including one that adds pet breeding to fight off pest infestations, one for adding horse stables to your inn, and another for toilets and baths.
Klabater has even more expansions planned for 2021. July brings DLC inspired by their upcoming game, The Amazing American Circus, which will include three new circus adventurers and circus-themed decorations like a full-on stage. August brings the Booze and Liquor DLC which will add a new moonshiner NPC as well as new items for brewing your own alcohol, with more DLC expected later in the year.
Crossroads Inn arrives on Xbox on May 19.
