Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will have more levels than the original three games combined.

At the beginning of the week, Activision and Toys For Bob tried to surprise gamers via the reveal of a brand new Crash Bandicoot game. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. We say tried to surprise because unfortunately, as is often the case in the present day, that surprise was spoiled a couple of times during the days leading up to the official reveal.

The title of the game and even a few screenshots managed to find their way online before Monday. That didn’t make the drop of It’s About Time’s official trailer any less special, though. Its developers still had plenty to reveal, including the introduction of two new Quantum Masks and the fact the game will take place directly after Warped on the Crash timeline.

Even better, it seems as if players have still only seen the tip of the iceberg. According to an email sent out by GameStop, Crash 4 will feature more than 100 brand new levels. To put that into perspective, the first Crash game features 35 levels, Crash 2 is made up of 30, and there are 32 levels to complete in Warped. So yes, that’s right, It’s About Time will be made up of more levels than all three of the N’Sane Trilogy’s games combined.

There has been a lot of talks and a fair few complaints about how much Crash 4 is rumored to cost. Listings have it at $59.99, which most would agree is pretty steep for a platformer like this one. However, if it really is going to be made up of more than 100 levels, that price tag makes a little more sense.

On top of that, there’s also talk of Crash 4 including local multiplayer, at least according to its preorder listing on the PlayStation Store. How that will work exactly is yet to be explained. It does sound like It’s About Time will be bigger and better than any Crash game to have come before it, while building on the story that was established during the first three games. Just ignore everything that’s happened in the Crash universe since.
