Great news, Bandicoot fans! Crash 4 will not have any microtransactions, according to the game’s developer Toys for Bob.

Toys for Bob said in a tweet, “We’re seeing confusion about #MTX in

@CrashBandicoot 4 and want to be đź’Ž clear: There are NO MICROTRANSACTIONS in #Crash4.” So that’s that!

When the Microsoft Store said the game had in-app purchases and with the Totally Tubular costumes at the end of the trailer being pre-order bonuses, fans suspected that Activision would be implementing microtransactions into the game. That is apparently not the case. However, Activision did add microtransactions a month after the release of Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled after promising it wouldn’t, so perhaps take this tweet from Toys for Bob with a grain of salt.

The 3D platforming genre has been getting a renaissance as of late. The Crash N’Sane Trilogy and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has done very well for Activision, there are rumors of the classic 3D Mario titles being remastered, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart looks incredible with the PS5’s super fast SSD.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is likely to be one of those renaissance games with over 100 levels, time and gravity-based mechanics, and a funny script that embellishes the charm of the world around Crash and Coco. It will also have local multiplayer for up to 4 players, which is rare in this day and age.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time hasn’t been officially announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X yet, but with backwards compatibility for both, maybe we could see a graphics patch?

And if this game does well, perhaps we’ll see a new Spyro the Dragon game in development as well. With a more open world and a next-generation lick of paint, Spyro 4 could look stunning with cartoon-like environments and many, many items to find in large sprawling areas with plenty of detail. Heck, maybe our favorite purple dragon will make a cameo in Crash 4 as they’re so tied together?

The game will be releasing on October 2nd, 2020 for PS4 and Xbox One, just in time for those early Holiday shoppers. Oooga booga!
