Cozy Grove is a peaceful and casual game where you’ll spend most of your time fishing and decorating your island. But through the hide-and-seek tasks and farming, there’s a cute little story. Each day you have to do tasks for the bears on the island so that they can add color to the world and so that you can learn why they became spirits in the first place.
Each spirit bear has their own background history. Who they were before they died, their families, their jobs, their hobbies… But some of them are also useful resources to you. Buying items and getting help from some of the bears will allow you to progress with your farm and with your quests.
Charlotte Pines (Ranger Bear)
Charlotte is the first spirit bear you meet when you sail into Cozy Grove. In her past life, she was also a spirit scout like you. When you help Charlotte with her tasks she will recount her times as a scout and what it was like helping spirits.
If you can’t find a hidden object for a quest a bear gave you, you can speak to Charlotte and ask her to help you find it for 100 coins. An icon will then appear on the edge of your screen, showing you where to go.
Charlotte keeps a book of memories. She has logs of all your encounters with the bears so you can track your progress and see whose story you’ve completed so far.
Patrice Furbac (Postal Bear)
Patrice is your friendly neighborhood mailman. When speaking to him you learn that he is devout in his work. Patrice aims to work hard nonstop to make up for his past. When you craft food or order rare furniture, it will be delivered to Patrice.
You can pick up your ordered mail or read letters from your scoutmaster here. He is the fourth bear you unlock when expanding Flamey’s fire.
Captain Billweather Snout (Seagull Bear)
Captain Billweather is basically your Blather’s museum from Animal Crossing. In his past life, he was a classic pirate who was up to no good. You can collect flower petals, food, shells, and more and donate them to Captain Billweather.
When donating items, the Captain will give you rewards ranging from some coins to valuable relic ash.
Jeremy Gruffle (Maker Bear)
This is where you’ll craft all your pretty furniture for your camp. Jeremy Gruffle is designed to look like a measuring tape because he’s all about being handy and crafting things from scratch. In his past life, this is what he cherished most, second to his family.
Jeremy Gruffle is used to craft furniture and resources as well as repair tools. All your tools have durability and when they break, they release essence. You need that essence and a little more to repair the tool with Jeremy. Here, you can also craft more gems and wood.
Lee Berry Dennings (Veggie Bear)
Lee Dennings is the eighth bear you can unlock in Cozy Grove. He will be to the direct right side of your camp, which annoys some people due to his messy environment.
In Lee’s past life, he grew up on a farm with a poor family. He’s the most useful at the beginning of the game because you’ll want to get a pet spirit deer so that you can get spirit deer essence. Spirit essence is used to craft furniture.
Lee sells both birds and deer alike, which take a day to be delivered to your mail with Patrice.
Valentina Oso-Fisher (Mayor Bear)
The Mayor Bear is a dedicated leader who will stop at nothing to make her town perfect. This makes her stubborn at times because she refuses to listen to any criticism and public opinion.
You can sell items to her the same way that you can sell them to Mr. Kit. What’s useful about Valentina is that every day she has a new stock of special furniture for sale. These furniture items usually require semi-precious and precious gems to purchase.
Francesca Duclaw (Wood Bear)
Francesca is an artist. Or was one, in her past life. She’s surrounded by nature and trees are her muse and her family. She thinks she’s a tree herself because of her fascination.
Francesca is used to recycle items. You can bring flower petals to her and recycle them into tins of pigment, which are used to craft some furniture items. She will also break down furniture and other things, giving you raw materials back. She is the fifth bear.
Allison Fisher (Baker Bear)
Allison Fisher, if you couldn’t already tell by the name, is related to the Mayor Bear. Valentina Oso-Fisher is her half-sister and they don’t really get along. Allison takes pride in her cooking and tries really hard to make outstanding meals every time she bakes. The catch is that nothing she cooks ever tastes good.
Allison Fisher, the Baker Bear, is used to craft food. Food is used to feed your spirit birds and deer and is sometimes asked for by other bears.
Arjun Bhalla (Retiree Bear)
Arjun is an old and forgetful man. If you thought figuring out the other spirits’ past was hard and tedious, think again. Arjun sets you on tasks to find photographs, all of which are always pictures of the other bears, but he believes they are of himself.
He can’t remember anything about himself or what his hobby even was. All he remembers was that he had a beautiful wife he cherished. It’s clear, though, that his hobby was photography. At the moment, he doesn’t provide any services to the scout.
Octavia Cubbins (Surfer Bear)
As you upgrade Flamey, your beach will expand some more. On the other end of the beach, far from Captain Billweather, you’ll find Octavia Cubbins.
Octavia used to be a swimmer in her past life. She had a fascination and deep love for the sea and all things shells. When we meet her, she refuses to accept help with tasks like the other bears. With the July 2021 summer update, she can now craft you decorative seashells.
Clyde Wallace (Wolf Bear)
After reaching scout level 11, which requires feeding many spirit logs to Flamey, you’ll unlock Clyde, the Wolf Bear.
Clyde is all about money and business ventures. He strives to make the world better, with wolfcoin. Smart suits and cash is all that calls his name.
Clyde acts as a salon where you’re able to purchase hairstyles in various fun colors, instead of waiting for the right color to show up in Mr. Kit’s store. He also sells unique imp-themed furniture that you can only buy with his famous wolfcoin.
Bruin Tram (Wary Bear)
Bruin Tram is the conspiracy bear of Cozy Grove. He doesn’t trust anyone, including you.
Bruin has a tinfoil hat on and won’t talk unless you’re on a secure line. Aliens, the government, the whole shebang. He will unlock the ability to craft an ancient relic at Jeremy Gruffle, but it’s only used for Bruin’s quest.
Ursula Pine (Sunflower Bear)
It’s not just spirit scouts that strive to heal the undead in Cozy Grove. It’s Ursula Pine, too.
Ursula is a flower bear who plants objects that hold memories to people. When she plants these objects in her garden, a solution or answer will grow that is meant to help soothe the pain an undead spirit feels. To help her, you have to help her help the other bears. Ursula does not sell anything.
Ted Sapsen (Stoic Rock Collector)
Ted Sapsen is a unique bear because he simply won’t open up. Even Charlotte Pines says that while she was alive and a spirit scout, she could never figure out Ted Sapsen.
He has an obsession with rocks and knows every type by heart. Ted is one with nature and doesn’t care for chitchat. He offers nothing for the scout currently.
Pius Of Grizz (High Priest Bear)
Pius is an old, old soul who is very faithful to his religion and leader, the Emperor. He was brought up to worship and spread the good word of this leader and that is exactly what he did and does even after death. He is the 15th bear to unlock. Currently, he offers nothing.
Bearos The Third (Emperor Bear)
Bearos is the great and ancient Emperor that Pius has such high regard for. He speaks with a Shakespearean tone and misses his kingdom greatly. There is an entire furniture set dedicated to him that you can find and craft.
Dalia Of Cosgrove (Revolutionary Bear)
Dalia’s past traces back to the very origins of Cozy Grove. The Mayor Bear, Valentina, holds Dalia in high regard because she created the history of the grove when she lead the revolution. The carved monument in Valentina’s area is dedicated to Dalia. She is the 17th bear you can unlock by upgrading Flamey’s fire. She does not offer anything at the moment.
Darla O’Hare
Darla is part of the 2021 summer update and a trader. She poses as a wig seller and a fashion connoisseur. Much like Mabel from Animal Crossing, she will come to your island on Saturdays and ask you to put on a fancy outfit for her to prove that you know style. When you do this, she rewards you with a clothing item. Darla also sells wigs, meaning you get to keep multiple hairstyles in storage. This has been a community request since the hair that you purchase from Mr. Kit replaces what you bought before and you can only have one at a time.
Ms. Carouse
Ms. Carouse is a seasonal event NPC. She only shows up around summertime in July to sell summer festival furniture and clothing. These are unique items you can’t get anywhere else. She also sells fireworks in the game.
