Control is never afraid to remind you that, despite being the director of the FBC, you’re still the janitor’s assistant. As such, one side quest you can take on in the AWE expansion is the Another Fine Mess: Nourish the Plants mission. If you need help finding all the plants to shine a light on, this guide will show you the way.

As you make your way through the Control AWE content, you will come to the Operations Center within the Investigations Sector of the Oldest House. This is where you will pick up a number of sidequests, including the Another Fine Mess: Nourish the Plants mission. Various plants have been infected by the Darkness you’ve been dealing with throughout the DLC, and it’s up to you to light them up. If you’re familiar with the other sidequests in Control, then you know that finding all these plants isn’t going to be simple. Here’s where you can find them in this shifting labyrinth.

All Plant Locations For Nourish The Plants

There are three locations you’ll need to visit and heal the plants in. These are the AWE Loading Bay, Operations Corridor, and the Abandoned Offices. These three locations will be marked on your map, but the specific plants within those areas won’t be. Each area has three plants you’ll need to find and light up to remove the darkness. Hold the light on each plant until they perk up to make sure they count.

AWE Loading Bay Plants

  • In the Control Room, go down to the bottom level with a light and find the first plant against the wall to the right side. Head up the stairs all the way and through the large doorway. The next plant will be on your left between two large storage shelves. The last plant is all the way around on the opposite side of the room, down one level, in a dark corner on the catwalk. Follow the back wall to the left if you have trouble finding it.

Operations Corridor Plants

  • Starting from the Control Point, pick up the light in the room and go through the doors ahead of you. Immediately turn around and shine the light on the plant tucked away behind the right side door you came out of. The next plant is almost directly across from the first, just slightly to the left. continue down the left path around the blocky geometry to find this last plant hanging out along the steps.

Abandoned Offices Plants

These plants are no different from the others, however, be ready for some Hiss to spawn every time you burn the darkness off a plant.

  • Starting in the hallway leading to the Service Tunnel, go forward and left with the hallway through a single door. Pick up one of the lights here and shine it to the left of the entrance to light up this plant. Carry your light with you back towards Filing and Processing and take the first left. The plant is in the corner of the hallway right beside a fire extinguisher. In one of the conference rooms right next to the entrance to the Operations Corridor, on your map you should be near the “N” in Abandoned Offices, there is a cracked wall you can blow through with either a melee blast or throwing a heavy object. The plant will be right on the other side of the wall in this hidden location.
