Cheat codes and hacks have fallen out of favor in more recent years. While they used to be seen as fun and harmless, many companies have taken strides to make sure their games can’t be altered in any way. This gave rise to the popular act of looking carefully for glitches and exploits in order to “beat the system.”
However, older consoles and games remain in use with the Nintendo 64 maintaining an active community. To this day, Conker’s Bad Fur Day is revered as one of the most memorable games to be released on the console and it comes with a list of handy cheats to punch in.
8 WELDERSBENCH (Unlocks All Levels)
One of the defining characteristics of Conker’s Bad Fur Day is its variety. The core of the game is a 3D platform adventure, but it incorporates other gameplay styles as it sees fit. It also pokes fun at different types of genres from Horror to Sci-Fi. The game as a whole is quite large with each level being a full world broken up into multiple segments and areas.
If you don’t have the patience to go through each level one by one and just want to jump to the one that appeals to you the most, enter this cheat at the code screen and let the Fire Imp send you where you want to go.
7 BOVRILBULLETHOLE (Gives 50 Lives)
Some of the most classic and popular types of cheats across all genres are ones that give you a lot of stuff. Whether it’s tons of money or infinite ammo, it feels good to have excess amounts of resources. Conker’s Bad Fur Day is an old-school platformer so you’ll likely lose some lives from a few missed jumps or enemy ambushes.
The only way to get more lives is to collect squirrel tails which are one of the few collectibles in the game and they’re not the most common. If you don’t feel like exploring every nook and cranny for tails, simply enter this code to get a surplus of them.
6 VERYEASY (Unlocks Very Easy Mode)
While some look to games for a challenge, others like to play just to unwind or relax. It can’t be easy to relax when you keep getting stuck at one segment or on a particularly difficult puzzle. What can be even more frustrating is when the controls work against you, and Conker’s Bad Fur Day can be a bit troublesome.
Movement and navigation can feel sticky and sluggish at times which can disrupt the flow of gameplay. This can be exacerbated at some of the challenging segments of the game. For those who don’t want to worry about that, enter this code for a more relaxing and responsive time.
5 WELLYTOP (Unlocks Conker In Deathmatch Mode)
Conker’s Bad Fur Day is a game that you wouldn’t expect to have not one but two different multiplayer modes. They’re Deathmatch and Race, both being self-explanatory. In the former, players select random characters from Conker’s adventure to run around an area, pick up items and try to take each other out.
Despite the huge cast of characters to choose from, many of the most memorable ones are not even unlocked. It makes sense to want to play as the eponymous hero in this wacky free-for-all arena. Simply enter this code and you’ll be fighting as the foul-mouthed rodent in no time.
4 BILLYMILLROUNDABOUT (Unlocks Gregg The Grim Reaper In Deathmatch Mode)
An aspect of Conker’s Bad Fur Day that still receives praise to this day is its sense of humor and comedic writing. Though it uses a lot of foul language and physical comedy, it includes a fair amount of wit. One of the most recognized scenes occurs when Conker dies for the first time. He is sent to the underworld where he meets the short and squeaky-voiced Grim Reaper, also known as Gregg.
Gregg explains how Conker can come back to life by collecting squirrel tails and appears sporadically later in the game. It seems fitting that the Grim Reaper should be playable in Deathmatch and entering this code can make that happen.
3 SPUNKJOCKEY (Allows Matrix-Style Katana And Chainsaw Deaths In Deathmatch Mode)
This is one of the games that started making references before they started to run rampant in popular media. Conker is shameless in the number of references it uses but they’re so over-the-top that they are hard to not love. There’s a later point in the game where you’ll face off against an H.R. Giger alien with your very own robot suit.
Even before this is a Matrix sequence including slow-motion and leather trench coats. You can bring this slow-motion into your katana and chainsaw Deathmatch finishers with this code.
2 DUTCHOVENS (Allows Use Of The Frying Pan In Race Mode)
In addition to Deathmatch, there’s also the Race multiplayer mode. At a later point in the game is a segment where Conker uses a hoverboard to fly across a lava flow. He’ll also be racing against several other cavemen that he’ll need to beat or knock off the track. This is recreated in Race mode where players can again choose different characters to race against each other.
However, their only means of defense is a bone club which is rarely used in the game. The Frying Pan is Conker’s signature weapon and you only need to enter this code to bring it to the races with you.
1 DRACULASTEABAGS (Allows Use Of The Baseball Bat In Race Mode)
When it comes to melee weapons in media, baseball bats are one of the most popular. An argument could be made that they’ve been used more in combat than in sports. During Conker’s adventure, he’ll encounter multiple contextual icons which allow him to pull out necessary items as needed.
One of them is the Baseball Bat which serves very little in the grand scheme of things despite its potential. To make sure it’s not wasted, enter this code so you can swing away at the other racers.
