Funcom recently announced the first major expansion for the online open-world multiplayer survival game Conan: Exiles. The Isle of Siptah expansion goes live for the PC Early Access community on September 15, and allows us to experience adventures on the new Isle of Siptah in more than a dozen new dungeons, engage in construction with two new building sets, ride a new mount into battles, and play the game for free until September 14.

In addition to the Steam Free Weekend, the Conan: Exiles - Standard Edition is currently priced at a 65% discount, down to $13.99. The five-item Conan Exiles - Deluxe Edition Bundle has a 57% discount (priced at $37.30), and the 11-item Conan Exiles - Complete Edition Bundle is discounted 45% (priced at $75.27). Check out the entire Funcom franchise on Steam to see if any of their other excellent games need to be added to your library.

The new Isle of Siptah expansion adds in its namesake to Conan: Exiles for us to trod with our sandaled feet. The island is wreathed in a magical storm, making it both beautiful and terrible, with a wealth of riches and opportunity, if you can steal them from the eldritch creatures who guard them. Over a dozen new dungeons, called vaults, are scattered across the island, and at its center stands a massive dark tower that the ferocious storm itself seems to protect.

The tower, maelstrom, and magic all seem to be connected and working in unison, as they each at times spawn horrifying creatures from beyond the void, seemingly spewed forth by some ancient Elder God to wreak our destruction. However, slaying these vile beings gains us access to a new resource which may prove useful and important.

Among the many new options Siptah throws at us, the newly-granted ability for us to create magical portals that summon and pull NPCs from the Exiled Lands to the island is of prime importance. Players will compete for control and use of these portals, which will undoubtedly create ample opportunity for grim and murderous PvP conflict to erupt.
