The game is unique for several reasons, among them is the different “Blood Codes” that prevent the player from having to choose a single build and, instead, bounce between different playstyles to suit their needs and moods. However, the fact remains that not all playstyles are created equal, and neither are all weapons. Consequently, some weapons rise while others flounder and fall. Some weapons can save the player character from a particularly nasty member of the Lost, while others practically bounce off the weakest of enemies.
10 Oni Bane Is Good When You Need A Faster Big Sword
The Oni Bane is a two-handed sword that can be obtained from Yakumo Shinonome for 50 trading points. It has a weight of 78 and requires a B in strength to use.
The Oni Bane is a good alternative to the best two-handed sword in Code Vein (which will be discussed later). It has quicker light attacks as far as two-handed swords go, and it can still make some quick work of enemies. It’s arguably a better boss weapon than most two-handed swords thanks to the weapon’s swiftness.
9 The Judgement Edge Can Dole Out Massive Damage
The Judgement Edge is another two-handed sword with great potential. While it’s still not the best two-handed sword in the game, it’s still a decent choice for high-DPS builds in Code Vein. It requires a B in strength to use and weighs 86.
The Judgement Edge is dropped by the boss Juzo Mido in the Crypt Spire. Unfortunately, this boss fight comes right on the heels of another boss fight: the Blade Bearer and Cannoneer.
8 The Sunset Sword Is A Strong Early Game Weapon
Much like the Drake Sword of Dark Souls, the Sunset Sword isn’t one of the best weapons in the game, but it’s one of the very best weapons that the player will obtain in the early game.
It’s a one-handed sword, and it requires a D in strength to use and weighs 30. It’s often dropped by the Lost who are visibly using the Sunset Sword, and there is one particular Lost early in the Ruined City Center who is guaranteed to drop the weapon.
7 Bardiche Is A Powerful Dexterity Weapon
The Bardiche is a halberd with a strong dexterity scaling. It requires a D+ in both strength and dexterity to use and weighs 52.
A Bardiche +1 can be found after a Trial of Blood in the Ruined City Center, though a Bardiche Gift can be found in a chest in the Depths: Town of Sacrifice, and one can be bought from Rin Murasame after the weapon has been found at any point.
6 The Huge Hammer Smashes The Lost
The Huge Hammer is a strong choice for pure damage, even if the weapon is much slower than many of the other options in the game. It can break through the Lost with ease, and it qualifies, unsurprisingly, as a two-handed hammer weapon.
The Huge Hammer weighs 117 and requires a B in strength to wield. It can be found in the Ashen Caverns as well as the Depths: Arachnid Grotto. It will also be sold by Rin Murasame after any version of the weapon has been obtained.
5 Burned Warhammer Provides Some Much-Needed Fire Damage
The Burned Warhammer is another two-handed hammer, but this one deals out fire damage in addition to physical damage. This is useful, as there are many enemies throughout Code Vein who have a weakness to fire damage.
The Burned Warhammer requires a C+ in strength and a D in mind to wield, and it can be found in the City of Falling Flame and will also be sold by Ren Murasame.
4 Black Halberd Allows The Player To Damage Multiple Enemies And Keep Distance With Bosses
The Black Halberd is a stronger halberd, a weapon type that already has an advantage thanks to the distance they keep on enemies as well as the ability to hit multiple enemies at once. The Black Halberd is one of the best halberd options in the game.
The Black Halberd requires an E in strength, a B in dexterity, and a D in mind to use, and it weighs 48. It is dropped by a Lost Knight in the City of Falling Flame, and a Black Halberd Venom can be found in Depths: Rocky Ruins. It will also be sold by Rin Murasame after being obtained.
3 Libertador (Eva’s Bayonet) Provides A Powerful Shot
The Libertador is a bayonet that packs a powerful punch. Bayonets are an unpopular weapon option in Code Vein, but the Libertador distinguishes itself with the ability to deal out a lot of long-range damage.
The Libertador requires a D in dexterity, a C in willpower, and a C in mind. It weighs 20, and it can be obtained from Eva for 50 trading points.
2 Enduring Crimson Is Arguably The Best One-Handed Sword
The Enduring Crimson is arguably the best one-handed sword in all of Code Vein. It is obtained from Louis for 50 trading points and is his signature weapon. The Enduring Crimson deals a lot of damage quickly, and its heavy attack hits three times.
It has no stat prerequisites and only comes in at a weight of 34.
1 The Zweihander Stands Above All Other Weapons
Not only is the Zweihander the best two-handed sword in Code Vein, but it may also very well be the best weapon in Code Vein, period. This will probably bring a bit of deja vu for anyone who has tried to use strength builds in the original Dark Souls.
The Zweihander is slower than the Enduring Crimson or the Oni Bane, but it deals more than enough damage to compensate. It requires a strength of C to use and comes in at a weight of 87. It can be found in the Ruined City Center, in the Depths: Town of Sacrifice, and Depths: Cliff of Rust. Furthermore, it can also be purchased by Ren Murasame. It scales at a B with strength as well.
