Children of Morta, the surprisingly-compelling story-based Roguelite by 11 Bit Studios, now has a New Game+ mode, along with a bunch of new story content.

As part of its robust plan to add tons of free content after its initial release, the game now allows players to keep characters, skills, resources and upgrades after beating the game while playing at an increased difficulty. The new story content includes 20 new cutscenes, eight new home interactive events, 26 new home idle activities, 14 new family events, and 3 new side quest traits.

This is only the second of six free updates that 11 Bit Studios has planned for the game. Future updates will include a new playable character, online co-op, an endless mode, and a slew of new items. After all of that is done, the developer plans to release a paid DLC expansion called “The Uncharted Lands,” which will add a brand new chapter to the game.

Children of Morta came out in September 2019, and the first two free updates took about eight months to release. Assuming that 11 Bit Studios keeps the same pace, it won’t be until September 2021 that we finally see the last bit of free content from them, and the new DLC won’t come out until 2022.
