This Singapore based food and snack company has created a Pikachu potato chip.
IRVINS, the creators of the salted egg potato chip, has teamed up with the Pokémon Company to bring Pikachu to their bags. Pikachu will be the face of the IRVINS Salted Egg Zig Zag Potato Chips, which boast “thicker cut, better crunch.” These chips will have the signature IRVINS salted egg flavor that launched their snack brand to begin with, but the brand offers plenty of other flavors without Pikachu’s seal of approval. IRVINS went all out with the branded bag design, five different and all equally happy Pikachus are framing the Pokémon logo, and that’s not including the thunderbolt border.
Just like the good old days, these snacks come with a special surprise inside—but in this case, special surprise adjacent. For online purchases of $65 or more snack connoisseurs will receive a free Pikachu plushie and $30 in store will be rewarded with a Pikachu tote, with the electric mouse front and center. All IRVINS purchases, whether Pokémon affiliated or just to curb a chip craving, will be wrapped up in a Pikachu paper bag.
These licensed Pokémon chips are a sweet (and salty) treat. Plus, partnering with a global juggernaut like Pokémon is sure to garner plenty of attention, and has the potential to get IRVINS out there on a broader scale.
