Having the best controller can make a world of difference when playing games. This is becoming abundantly clear as mobile games continue to grow in popularity and quality but remain tethered to touchscreen controls. Now, 8BitDo has revealed that they are making a brand-new controller through a partnership with Microsoft that will work on Android devices, as an Xbox controller, and is ideal for xCloud game streaming once it goes live.

The new device is smaller than your standard Xbox controller but is  incredibly sleek. Although we say this is a “new” controller design, users of other 8BitDo products will immediately recognize the design as nearly identical to the SN30 Pro, which works great with Bluetooth devices and the Nintendo Switch. The new controller is appropriately named SN30 Pro for Xbox.

It is nice to see that this has been made in partnership with Microsoft as well, especially considering how their xCloud game streaming service is planned to roll out. Over the past year Microsoft has revealed several details about how their service will work, and at its core, players should be able to stream games onto any smart device, be it through their console, tablet, or smartphone. By having a high-quality controller from a proven manufacturer, Microsoft is off to a great start.

Compare this to Google with Stadia, and the situation is night and day. Stadia’s controller was quite basic in its design, and when examined on the inside left much to be desired.

For mobile gaming, there are two options. First, players can simply prop up their phone on a surface, or they can utilize the included plastic clip. The clip can be securely anchored to the controller and holds a smartphone in position for hand-held gaming.

We are more than excited to see this great controller in action come September. For now, readers can click here to check out the other controllers made by 8BitDo, which are numerous and all great looking!
