Update: New playlists were added on August 12 by popular artists such as Steve Aoki and Logic. More details can be found on Pandora’s official site.

Pandora is offering the gaming community a chance to celebrate National Video Game Day by listening to some of their favorite chill out music whilst gaming. The streaming service has created a series of playlists for your next gaming session.

Addressing the fact that video games have been a comforting resource for many people during the lockdown period, Pandora announced in its blog post that it wants to keep adding to the spirit of gaming. The station established the strong bond between music and video games whilst reiterating the importance of socializing through gaming that has helped the community during the pandemic.

Inviting all gamers, from Fortnite and GTA fans to retro players who prefer to indulge in the nostalgic classics like Super Mario and Donkey Kong, Pandora wants to be there for gamers on this celebratory day. The streamers are also joined by Checkmate Gaming in offering a Black Ops 4 3v3 Tournament with a $300 prize, while various other companies are offering sales on merch and reminiscing about preferred classics.

Pandora will be launching ‘Game Time’ which is a compilation of playlists made by artists, who are also gamers, that will include the artists exclusive track selections with special messages attached. The list of artists will expand in the future, but the current lineup includes anonymous producer DJ Marshmello, So-Cal rapper Kyle, TikTok personality Surf Mesa, and Baton Rouge rapper Fredo Bang. Each individual’s playlist will feature a little of the artist’s personality mixed with what they listen to when they want to zone out and play.

The playlists offer a bit of everything, so no matter what type of music you like — or the type of game you’re about to play — there is probably something that fits your needs.

Whether you’re having a gaming marathon, filling the hours with Twitch streamers or perhaps revisiting video game movie adaptations (which is not recommended), TheGamer wishes everyone a fulfilled Video Game Day.
