CD Projekt RED is currently the most valuable gaming company in Europe, even overtaking French gaming giant Ubisoft.
CD Projekt’s market valuation is now estimated to be at $8.13 billion, just scraping past Ubisoft’s $8.12 billion. This is made even more impressive when you consider CD Projekt’s figure was at $6.8 billion in December 2019 - a massive spike in a short space of time for the Polish game company.
They were also reported as having the most significant rise in stocks in the Stoxx Europe 600 Index back in December 2019, posting a return of 21,000% between 2009 and 2019.
Although their insanely popular The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has already just celebrated its fifth anniversary, it’s still raking in the dough. Along with the revived hype around the game - drummed up for the sake of its fifth birthday this month - The Witcher 3 also received a totally measly 554% boost in sales earlier this year thanks to the recent Netflix adaptation of the series. Overall, around 30 million copies of the game have been sold to date.
Then there’s the hype around their upcoming sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077, due to release on 17th September 2020. So it’s not really that surprising to see CD Projekt’s fame skyrocket in this way.
