Players who’ve been meaning to pick up Assassin’s Creed on the Switch should open their wallets, because Nintendo has just announced a 50% off sale on their Assassin’s Creed The Rebel Collection bundle. The bundle includes Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag as well as Assassin’s Creed Rogue and all single-player DLCs.
The sale prices the bundle at 19.99 USD and 29.99 CAD. Black Flag takes place chronologically before the events of III. Players step into the shoes of Edward Kenway, Connor’s father. Black Flag is known for pioneering sailing as a free mechanic in the series, whereas III only allowed players to sail as part of limited and linear quest objectives. The game is widely regarded as a significant improvement from III.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue lets players indulge in some extra morally-grey murders by allowing them to play as Shay Cormac, a newly-minted Brotherhood recruit who betrays the Assassins for the Templars after seeing how far the Assassins are willing to go in order to find the Precursor Artifacts–including killing him. Rogue allows Assassin’s Creed fans to peer into the inner workings of the Templars and wipes away some of the Brotherhood’s heroic shine.
While games on Nintendo consoles or Nintendo properties are rarely ever discounted, the Assassin’s Creed franchise frequently goes on sale. Longtime Assassin’s Creed fans may already own the game on other consoles, but those who are are interested in experiencing how Black Flag or Rogue play on the Switch should definitely check out the Rebel Collection bundle. While the sale is currently limited to North America, European fans may see their Nintendo eShop over the collection discount soon.
The bundle also includes Freedom Cry, a Black Flag DLC set 20 years after the events of the main game. Players take the role of Adéwalé, a Brotherhood Assassin as well as Edward’s former quartermaster. While en route to a mission, Adéwalé is shipwrecked off the coast of Haiti and finds himself torn between loyalties: finish his mission, or assist the island’s freedom fighters and fight against slavery?
The deal ends July 21st, so there’s still over a week for players to decide whether or not to get it.
