Those that have become addicted to spin-off multiplayer title Resident Evil Resistance won’t need to fear the game becoming obsolete. In a new post on Twitter today, Capcom shared a roadmap of content updates for the game and it showcases months of plans ahead. The very next update, set for April 17, will be bringing Jill into the fray, but beyond that? How about another character?!
It’s really not the most descriptive of roadmaps, but Capcom has confirmed it will be adding another character to Resistance in May. June and July have…something teased and then the roadmap unceremoniously ends. At least the company is devoting resources to improving this mode, which can seriously use a netcode makeover.
Even with the reception around Resident Evil 3 being mixed, the game has been off to a good start. Our very own review gave it high praise and others are taking a liking to Resistance. Maybe this isn’t the exact way fans envisioned a remake happening, but everything seems to be working out.
With Capcom going hard on supporting this mode for a long time, there’s a chance it will become popular enough to warrant its own dedicated release. What if the next remake is actually Outbreak and we were all too focused on Resident Evil 4 to realize it?
