E3 has been cancelled, and the event’s representatives have confirmed that there won’t be a digital replacement. But it seems Capcom has something planned for June 10 that relates to its Resident Evil series.
According to a notification that was recently sent out to Resident Evil Ambassadors, some kind of an announcement is planned for next month. As a result of that, one user posted a screenshot of the notification that states ““A Resident Evil announcement will happen on June 10th, 2020.” No other details or information was shared, meaning that the announcement could pertain to anything that is Resident Evil related. The Resident Evil Ambassador Program is a free subscription-based service that allows its users to receive news about the series as well as share the news on social media, which would explain how the user obtained the information.
As far as what the possible announcement could be, there are a few theories being floated. First, the announcement could pertain to Resident Evil 8 which is rumored to release next year and how it will be called Resident Evil: VIIIage. Another announcement that Capcom could make on June 10 could deal with Resident Evil 4 Remake. Considering how there have been a lot of rumors about the remake in the past, and the fact that Capcom explained why Nemesis was remade for Resident Evil 3, the possibility of a Resident Evil 4 Remake could very well happen (although slim especially since the remake is rumored to release in 2022).
On the other hand, the news could simply pertain to the Resident Evil Ambassador Program. As pointed out by Biohazard Declassified, the announcement could relate to Gold members being upgraded to Platinum status which in return a will make them a “full Resident Evil Ambassador.” However, the possibility for Resident Evil 8 or Resident Evil 4 shouldn’t be ruled out, and it would be best for fans to keep an eye out for the official announcement on June 10.
